Formerly known as The Naval Jack "To be the same as the union for the Ensign, except that its length shall be one and a half time its width." (By order of the Secretary of the Confederate Navy, May 26, 1863.) The Ensign, as described in the same order, was to be basically the same design as the Second National Flag.
